Marilyn first found yoga through taking courses during college in New Orleans. After realizing the many physical and mental health benefits of yoga, her passion only became deeper as she started practicing with different studios around the city and developing individual meditative routines. In 2016 she graduated from the 400 hour Swan River Yoga teacher training program, and has been honing her teaching skills ever since. As an avid student of Lucky Cat for nearly two years, she is excited to start sharing her passion with others. Marilyn believes yoga is for anyone and everyone, and follows B.K.S. Iyengar's philosophy that “Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured.”
Chelsey’s yoga journey began in 2014 when she attended her first yoga class. She then knew that yoga would have a huge impact on her life. After focusing on her personal practice for several years she knew that she wanted to share the beauty of yoga with others as her teachers had shared with her. In 2018 Chelsey received her 200 RYT in Bali Indonesia. This training focused on principles aligned with Hatha/Vinyasa Yoga. Dark Wave Yoga
In graduate school I came to yoga for stress relief and the balance it provided through physical movement after long hours of studying. With a regular practice I quickly realized yoga is a lot more than physical postures. I began to explore yoga as a philosophy and path to inner peace and wellbeing.
I have received so many gifts from yoga, the most profound being self awareness. I am continually learning to observe and understand my mind, body and emotions in ways that allow for the creation of healthier habits and a happier life. In an effort to deepen my own knowledge and yoga practice I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training in December 2018.
Yoga is for everyone. I enjoy sharing what I have learned, helping all students safely enjoy their yoga practice and guiding them to discover their inner teacher. Experiencing the value of yoga at a personal level it is my hope that through the teachings of yoga we can heal the world - one person at a time, with peace, love and an attitude of oneness.
I began yoga in 2014 after attending a free public yoga class. I decided to try out the studio that held space for the class and initially planned to complete 7 days of Yoga. My son told me “mom it takes 21 days to create a habit”. Well 21 days later and I was hooked! A few years later I decided to complete a 200 hr teacher training with Jonathan Miles of Mahavira Yoga at Om On yoga in Richmond, VA. The training opened my mind to many different types of yoga and after the training I was drawn to Rocket Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga. My interest in Ashtanga yoga led to a 3 week trip to India in 2018. There I studied Kundalini and took part in 2 other trainings. In 2019 I decided to pursue a certificate in Rocket yoga at the Yogo Dojo in Richmond, VA. Yoga is my passion and my therapy. My intent is to hold space for others as was done for me.
Krystal began her yoga journey as part of her healing process from drug and alcohol addiction. She previously practiced on and off for years at various studios, but struggled to connect with breath and movement. In 2016, Krystal reconnected with yoga in a residential treatment center. From then on, regular practice became part of her new way to live. Krystal found her yoga home at Lucky Cat Yoga and began practicing regularly. Yoga has assisted in her transformation to new positive daily routines, healthy habits, and spiritual growth. Yoga has allowed Krystal to practice more acceptance of herself and the world at large. Krystal found inner healing through yoga. Krystal believes recovery from any addiction is possible and yoga has been another added tool to her toolbox. Krystal studied Ashtanga Yoga at Finca La Flor in Costa Rica in 2019. She is a recent graduate from Lucky Cat Yoga YTT - Cycle 9 and is a new teacher in the Tampa Bay Area. She is passionate to share yoga with a purpose to the local community and beyond.
